So, why would a dedicated professional in the world of coffee turn their attention to instant coffee? It's a question many have asked me, and the answer is both simple and satisfying. Imagine being able to share the intricate flavours that coffee roasters and baristas craft in a single cup, while equipped only with a kettle. That's the true magic here—you, at home with a teaspoon, hot water and this instant. When I first kicked off this project, friends and family were surprised. They asked, "Really, you, instant coffee?" My response was always the same: Of course instant! I know that some days the my enthusiasm for drinking a delicious coffee drink at home or during an adventure rarely comes with the same levels of enthusiasm for preparing one. I knew I possessed the experience in creating something like this so on we march.

There are a few specialty outlets selling instant in their product portfolio. The majority of these instant products are priced somewhat outrageously, but knowing the process I understand why. The process of turning brewed espresso coffee into a freeze dried, ready to brew powder becomes fucking expensive when you outsource the work. I know only one group in Australia providing that service and while im sure they do a good job, It means that the end product needs to be priced in such a way that it becomes the same luxury as the 'large flat white with one' that they are trying to save while on their way to work.
What if there is an instant, convenience product that hits the same level of transparency as any high end specialty blend out there, while keeping pricing healthy and accessible and while rivaling the level of flavour and quality of an everyday espresso shot?
I'd buy it, but first, id have to build it.
