Manufacturing
Production Overview
We offer contract production of specialty instant coffee for roasters, hospitality groups, and private label brands. Two pathways are available depending on your volume and where you're at: espresso extraction for smaller, premium and flavour-led projects, and concentrate-based production for consistent, ongoing supply at larger scale.
Both run in-house in Coffs Harbour. Pricing is based on finished grams delivered back to you, not on roasted coffee input, so there's no exposure to yield variance between batches. What you're quoted is what you're invoiced on.
Espresso Pathway
17kg roasted coffee input (around 16.5kg whole bean), yielding approximately 2,600–2,800g of finished instant per batch. The right fit for smaller premium projects, highly flavour-led coffees, and initial rollout phases.
Single batch: $0.32/g + GST
3-batch program: $0.30/g + GST
5-batch program: $0.28/g + GST
Indicative total cost (ex-GST), using a typical specialty input cost of ~$24–25/kg:
Single batch: ~$1.3k total (approx. $86 GST on processing)
3-batch program: ~$3.7k total (approx. $243 GST on processing)
5-batch program: ~$5.8–6.3k total (approx. $378–416 GST on processing)
Concentrate Pathway
Where our long-term thinking is heading. Concentrate removes the espresso bottleneck almost entirely and is designed around scalable, repeatable production once instant moves beyond a feature release and into ongoing, permanent availability across a wholesale range.
Figures below are indicative and based on early testing. We haven't run concentrate at full commercial scale yet, so treat these as a guide for the conversation rather than a locked-in quote.
110L minimum run: indicatively $27/L concentrate + $0.20/g freeze drying + GST
315L production run: indicatively $22/L concentrate + $0.20/g freeze drying + GST
Indicative total cost (ex-GST):
Tier 1 (~120kg equivalent, ~25,500g finished): ~$11–11.5k total
Tier 2 (~345kg equivalent, ~73,500g finished): ~$30–31k total
Once you move into meaningful production volume, landed gram cost between larger espresso programs and concentrate starts to converge. At that point it's less about cost-per-gram and more about what kind of category you want to build. If you're after consistent, ongoing instant in your wholesale range rather than a smaller or intermittent release, concentrate is worth a conversation.
A Note on Pricing and GST
Figures above combine two components: your roasted coffee input (GST-free) and our processing fees (GST applies). Both are always invoiced separately and correctly. As a guide, the GST component on processing adds approximately $0.02–0.03 per gram, depending on pathway and volume tier, and is fully claimable as an input tax credit for GST-registered businesses.

Jar Filling & Sealing
We can supply, label, fill and seal finished retail jars on your behalf.
35g jar: approximately $2.50 + GST per unit, supplied, labelled, filled and sealed
60g jar: approximately $3.00 + GST per unit, supplied, labelled, filled and sealed
Alternative jar formats can be quoted where required.
Single-Serve Sachets
Custom printed single-serve sachet production for travel, office, retail or wholesale distribution formats.
Standard dose: 3g per sachet
Custom printed sachets: approximately $0.11 + GST per sachet
Typical MOQ for custom printed sachet production: approximately 10,000 units
Secondary Packaging
Sachets can be packed into retail cartons using stock kraft boxes with custom overwrap labels, or fully custom printed retail cartons. Packaging costs will vary based on pack format, quantity, dimensions and print requirements. As a guide, current retail carton pricing is approximately $0.95 + GST per unit.
Example Yield Conversion
A standard 3-batch espresso program yielding approximately 8.1kg of finished instant would produce approximately:
135 x 60g jars
231 x 35g jars
2,700 x 3g sachets
540 x 5-pack retail boxes
Packaging pricing is indicative only and will be confirmed through formal quotation once preferred format, artwork requirements and volumes are known. Dielines available for all standard packaging formats.
Payment Terms
Production slots are secured via a 50% deposit. The deposit secures your position in the production schedule and allows production resources to be allocated to your batch. Once a production slot has been confirmed and scheduled, deposits are non-refundable. Balance is invoiced on actual finished grams delivered, payable prior to dispatch. Packaging is invoiced separately.
